Minutes later, India converted their momentum into a breakthrough, with Raheel finishing off a well-constructed team move to give his side the lead at the end of the first quarter.
India is set to face Belgium on Monday as the tournament continues. All teams will meet each of the other five sides once in a round-robin format, where a victory earns three points, while a draw gives one point to each team.
