Governor leads Census 2027 self-enumeration drive in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Wednesday took part in the self-enumeration process for Census 2027, marking the beginning of the exercise in the state.

By submitting his own details, the governor set an example and urged citizens across Odisha to actively participate in the nationwide programme. He stressed the need to ensure that every household is covered under the census process.

Extending his greetings to the people, Kambhampati described the census as a crucial national exercise that forms the backbone of effective planning and development. In a video post on X, he highlighted that accurate data collection is vital to achieving inclusive growth.

Referring to the house listing and housing census phase, he appealed to residents to extend full cooperation and ensure that no individual or family is left out of the enumeration process.

Emphasising collective responsibility, the Governor said active public participation would strengthen governance and improve service delivery across all sections of society. He also called upon citizens to support efforts to make the census exercise accurate and successful.

Director of Odisha Census Directorate Nikhil Pavan Kalyan and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chanchal Rana were present during the governor’s self-enumeration process.
