Home Minister Amit Shah praises Odisha Police’s anti-Naxal success

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Saturday presented a special appreciation letter from Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The letter recognised the Odisha Police’s success in curbing Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and strengthening the state’s internal security.

The appreciation letter was handed over to the CM at Lok Seva Bhawan. Chief Secretary Anu Garg and other senior government officials also attended the event.

The recognition comes in acknowledgement of the Odisha Police’s sustained efforts to suppress LWE and enhance the overall security environment across the state.

During the meeting, CM Majhi commended the courage, dedication and sacrifices of Odisha Police officers and personnel in maintaining peace and public safety.

Reaffirming the state’s commitment to protecting its citizens, Majhi said the government will continue to follow a policy of zero tolerance towards threats to internal security and public safety.

In a post on X, he also appreciated the role of the police force in ensuring a secure environment for the people of Odisha.
