Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Monday conducted simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Bhanja Kishore Behera, a Special Revenue Assistant (SRA) posted at Naugaon Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur district, in connection with an alleged government money misappropriation case involving more than Rs 3 crore.
The searches began on Monday, after Behera’s arrest in connection with Katak Vigilance Police Station Case No. 30 of 2026, registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
According to Odisha Vigilance, the searches are also being conducted from a disproportionate assets angle.
The anti-corruption agency is searching properties and official premises associated with Behera, who previously served as an SRA at Tirtol Block. He is currently posted as an SRA at Naugaon Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur.
The searches are being carried out at two residential buildings, a tent house, his current office, his previous place of posting, and a relative’s residence.
The locations include a double-storeyed residential building measuring around 7,000 square feet at Patenigaon under Raghunathpur police station limits in Jagatsinghpur district.
A tent house spread over around 4,000 square feet at Patenigaon is also being searched. Another double-storeyed building measuring approximately 3,000 square feet at Patenigaon is among the locations covered by the Vigilance searches.
The agency is also conducting a search at Behera’s present office at the Naugaon Tahasil office in Jagatsinghpur. His previous place of posting at the office of the Block Development Officer, Tirtol, is also under search.
The sixth location is the house of one of his relatives at Sanakorkora village under Raghunathpur police station limits.
The searches are continuing, and the Odisha Vigilance said further details will be reported after the operation progresses.
