New Delhi: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty produced a remarkable comeback to claim the China Masters 2026 men’s doubles title on Sunday, becoming the first Indian pair to win the prestigious tournament.

The fifth-ranked Indian duo defeated China’s He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in 70 minutes in the final of the BWF Super 750 event in Shenzhen, according to reports.

The victory ended India’s long wait for a China Masters men’s doubles champion since the tournament began in 2005.

Satwik and Chirag had come close to winning the title before. They finished runners-up in Shenzhen in 2023 and 2025 and reached the semi-finals in 2024. Their latest triumph finally put an Indian pair on top at the tournament.

The win also marked their 10th career title on the BWF World Tour and their second title of the 2026 season.

The Indian pair will now shift their focus to the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The continental multi-sport event begins on September 19, while badminton will be played from September 20 to 29.

Satwik and Chirag will enter the Asian Games as the defending men’s doubles champions.
