New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held extensive bilateral talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, covering the full spectrum of India-Israel relations and charting a new roadmap for cooperation.

The two leaders reviewed progress across key sectors and discussed expanding collaboration in technology and innovation, artificial intelligence, critical and emerging technologies, defence and security, trade and economy, labour mobility, education, blue economy, agriculture, and health. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, Modi said in a series of posts on X.

In a major outcome of the visit, both sides announced the elevation of ties to an India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership for Peace, Innovation, and Prosperity. The decision marks a significant upgrade in bilateral engagement and reflects the growing depth of cooperation between the two countries.

Several outcomes were finalised in areas including technology, science, trade, finance, AI, agriculture, blue economy, labour mobility, education, and culture.

Describing the talks as fruitful, Modi said the decision to elevate the “time-tested partnership” to a Special Strategic Partnership reflects the aspirations of the people of both nations.

During the visit, the PM also laid a wreath at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. Along with Netanyahu, he also visited the Hall of Names, a memorial dedicated to those who suffered during the Holocaust.

Modi also met Israeli President Isaac Herzog. The two leaders discussed various aspects of the India-Israel partnership and noted strong potential for cooperation in emerging sectors such as technology, innovation, and startups.

The latest engagements underline the steady expansion of India–Israel ties, with both sides signalling a deeper strategic alignment focused on peace, innovation, and shared prosperity.
