Takaichi’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on Sunday secured a landslide victory in Japan’s general election, winning a supermajority in the powerful House of Representatives, aljazeera.com reported. According to results collated by public broadcaster NHK, the LDP won 316 of the 465 seats in the election, well above the 233 required for a majority.
