Bhubaneswar: Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Fisheries & Animal Resources Development and MSME, Gokulananda Mallick, on Monday, said the State government is committed to encouraging innovation and empowering youth to move from being job seekers to job creators.
Addressing a startup meet organised by Startup Odisha at O-Hub, Mallick said the government is focusing on building a strong ecosystem to support emerging entrepreneurs across the state.
During the event, 12 innovative startups were awarded grants under the government of Odisha’s Product Development and Marketing Assistance and Need-Based Assistance schemes for their innovation and entrepreneurial potential.
The selected startups represent a diverse range of sectors, including nutri tech, sustainability, artificial intelligence, textiles, and food & beverages, reflecting the growing breadth of Odisha’s innovation ecosystem, according to a Startup Odisha post.
Mallick further said the government is working to promote startup culture in every district by creating robust policies, strengthening economic infrastructure, and providing financial support to innovators.
The initiative aligns with the vision of Mohan Charan Majhi to strengthen the State’s startup ecosystem while empowering women entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators.
Officials said the programme is part of Startup Odisha’s continued efforts to foster innovation and create a supportive environment for technology-driven and creative enterprises in the State.
