Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale called on Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday during a courtesy meeting.
During the discussions, both leaders reviewed various issues related to social justice and welfare measures in the state. The CM said that full coordination between the Central and State governments would be maintained across all public welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening social security systems.
Majhi also highlighted several ongoing welfare programmes in Odisha, including the expansion of the Madhubabu Pension Yojana, under which an additional six lakh beneficiaries have been included.
He further informed the Union minister about the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, under which beneficiaries are being provided an additional five kilograms of rice.
The meeting underscored the state government’s focus on expanding social security coverage and ensuring wider welfare support for vulnerable sections of society through coordinated efforts with the Centre.
