Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday held a series of business interactions in Abu Dhabi to strengthen investment, trade, and industrial cooperation between Odisha and the UAE.
Majhi participated in an interaction with members of the Indian Business & Professional Group (IBPG), where discussions focused on Odisha’s expanding economic opportunities and ways to deepen business ties with the UAE.
The interaction explored opportunities to facilitate the exchange of goods, exports, and trade between Odisha and the UAE. Potential areas highlighted during the discussion included turmeric, ginger, seafood, food processing and contract manufacturing for leading UAE brands.
The meeting also examined opportunities for the deployment of highly skilled professionals from Odisha in the UAE.
Odisha-based companies Ruchi and Farm B, B-one, which have an established presence in the UAE, participated in the interaction. IBPG President Rajiv Shah also attended the meeting.
In another engagement in Abu Dhabi, Majhi led a high-level roundtable with business verticals and group companies of International Holding Company (IHC).
The discussions focused on investment prospects, industrial cooperation and opportunities to strengthen Odisha’s position as a destination for global investment.
Earlier, the CM was welcomed by Dr Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to the UAE, along with members of the Odia diaspora.
The interaction with the Odia community focused on strengthening the social, cultural and economic ties between Odisha and the UAE.
Members of the Odia community also expressed support for initiatives aimed at expanding investment and employment opportunities in Odisha.
The engagements form part of Odisha’s efforts to deepen its economic engagement with the UAE and explore new avenues for investment, trade, exports, industrial cooperation and employment opportunities.
