New Delhi: Odisha has achieved full coverage of Sub-Registrar offices across the State, marking a major step in bringing revenue services closer to citizens.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated 57 new Sub-Registration Offices and launched a range of citizen-centric services through the ‘Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp Bot’.
With this addition, Sub-Registrar offices are now operational in all 317 tehsils of the State. The final phase included offices in the remaining 56 tehsils and one additional office in Cuttack.
The initiative aims to make land and property-related services faster, simpler, and more accessible. Residents can now complete registration work at nearby tehsil offices, reducing travel time and related expenses, according to the CM.
Majhi said the move reflects its core principle of ensuring that government services reach people at their doorstep.
Officials described the expansion as more than an administrative change, calling it a citizen-focused reform designed to ease daily interactions with the revenue system.
Over the past year, the government has introduced wide-ranging reforms in registration services to improve efficiency and transparency. These measures seek to curb delays, remove intermediaries, and reduce opportunities for corruption.
The ‘Ama Sathi App’ now offers 11 key revenue services, including caste certificate, legal heir certificate, residence certificate, mutation cases, and land conversion services. Citizens can apply for these services from their homes using the mobile app or WhatsApp bot.
In addition, a special campaign has been launched in all tehsils to facilitate the change of succession in land records. Updating land titles in favour of legal heirs will also help farmers access benefits under various government schemes.
Officials said the focus on transparency and technology-driven delivery would strengthen public trust and support the State’s vision of building a Developed Odisha.
In a post on X, the CM said: “Along with our larger goals of building a prosperous Odisha and a developed India, one of our specific objectives is to ensure that government services reach even the last person in the line.”
