Hyderabad: Odisha has been awarded the Best Wildlife Conservation Effort in India at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) in Hyderabad, marking a significant recognition of the State’s commitment to safeguarding its wildlife and diverse natural habitats.
Debakirani Purty, Tourism Development Officer, received the award on behalf of Odisha Tourism, reflecting the State’s ongoing efforts in protecting national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and biodiversity hotspots.
Officials said the honour underscores Odisha’s focus on promoting responsible and sustainable tourism while ensuring the protection of its ecological heritage.
The three-day event saw participation from over 200 exhibitors representing more than 25 Indian States and 10 countries. Exhibitors showcased a wide range of tourism offerings, including leisure and adventure travel, medical tourism, destination weddings, and MICE activities.
