Bhubaneswar: The Home Department, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), and VFS Global on Monday signed a tripartite agreement to establish a dedicated Visa Application Centre (VAC) at the Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bus Terminal in Baramunda.

In a post on X, the BDA said that Soumendra Patra, Additional Secretary (Home), Manas Ranjan Padhi, Secretary of BDA, and Viney John, Associate Vice-President (Administration, South Asia) at VFS Global, formalised the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

The state government has earmarked around 3,000 square feet at the terminal for the facility, which is expected to benefit thousands of Odisha residents who currently travel to other metro cities to submit visa applications.

In a related development, the BDA agreed with the Odisha Computer Application Centre to lease vacant space at the Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bus Terminal for IT companies, aiming to boost the city’s growing technology ecosystem.
