CM regularises over 13,000 Schematic junior teachers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday approved the regularisation of contractual Junior Teachers (Schematic) across the State, bringing relief to more than 13,000 educators.

The decision applies to Junior Teachers appointed during the 2023-24 academic year. With this move, their services have been regularised with effect from the date of their joining, according to a government release.

According to the official decision, the teachers will receive notional benefits from their date of joining until December 31, 2025. They will become eligible for regular salary and all associated service benefits from January 1, 2026, in line with permanent government employees.

The chief minister had earlier announced the plan to regularise these teachers. The formal approval of the decision has prompted a positive response from the teaching community, with many welcoming it as a long-awaited step towards job security and stability.

Meanwhile, Minister of School and Mass Education Nityananda Gond expressed his gratitude to Majhi for the major decision.
