Bhubaneswar: In view of the prevailing situation in West Asia, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday chaired a review meeting with district collectors to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential commodities across Odisha.

The chief minister assured that all essential commodities are adequately stocked, supply chains are being streamlined, and urged citizens not to panic.

District-level enforcement squads have been directed to remain in 24×7 action mode to ensure smooth distribution. Market conditions will be continuously monitored, with strict action against hoarding, black marketing, and other unfair trade practices, the CM said in a post on X.

The availability of fuel, LPG, fertilisers, and other essential commodities will be tracked regularly. Authorities will take firm action against rumour mongers, with special focus on social media, to prevent public panic. Emphasis was placed on coordinated efforts across departments to ensure effective crisis management and maintain public confidence, Majhi added.

During the meeting, the Principal Secretary of the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, Sanjay Singh, presented the various measures being undertaken on behalf of the State government. The district collectors also apprised Majhi of the initiatives being implemented in their respective local areas.
