Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on citizens to join the Run for Unity on October 31, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The nationwide event, held annually to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), celebrates the spirit of oneness and the vision of unity that Sardar Patel championed.
Responding to a post by Ekta Diwas Bharat on X, the Prime Minister wrote: “Join the Run for Unity on 31st October and celebrate the spirit of togetherness! Let’s honour Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India.”

The Run for Unity—first organised in 2014—pays tribute to the Iron Man of India for his pivotal role in integrating over 560 princely states into a united nation. This year’s edition carries special significance as it coincides with his 150th birth anniversary.
Events are expected to be held across cities, towns, and villages, bringing together citizens, students, officials, and organisations in celebration of India’s unity and diversity.
