Bhubaneswar: IBM Consulting has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art FutureNow Center in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant expansion of its operations in Odisha and reinforcing the city’s position as an emerging technology hub.
The facility was inaugurated on March 31 by Additional Chief Secretary of Electronics and IT and Energy, Vishal Kumar Dev, in the presence of Amit Sharma, Managing Partner – Global Delivery, IBM Consulting, along with other government officials and company representatives.
The FutureNow Center is aimed at advancing digital transformation and supporting economic growth in the region. It will strengthen IBM Consulting’s capabilities in hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence, delivering solutions to global clients from India.
Speaking at the event, Dev said the expansion reflects growing confidence in Bhubaneswar as a leading IT and global delivery destination in eastern India. He added that the development aligns with Odisha’s focus on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, data centres, and digital infrastructure.
IBM’s expansion is also expected to boost local employment by enabling the company to tap into talent from universities and the wider region. The move is seen as a step towards strengthening Odisha’s innovation ecosystem and positioning the state as a competitive player in the digital economy.
