Bhubaneswar: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed long-term Fuel Supply Agreements (FSAs) with NTPC Limited for the supply of 5 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) of coal.
The supply will cater to NTPC’s Dadri, Farakka, Unchahar, and Nabinagar thermal power stations, MCL said in a post on X.
The agreements aim to ensure a steady and reliable coal supply to key thermal power plants, supporting uninterrupted electricity generation and strengthening India’s energy security framework.
The agreements were signed at MCL headquarters in the presence of S.K. Jha, Director (Technical – OP & PP), MCL. A.K. Lakra, General Manager (M&S), MCL, signed on behalf of the company, while Diwakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (NR), and Vijay Goel, Regional Executive Director (ER-I), signed on behalf of NTPC.
Officials said the development strengthens long-term fuel supply arrangements between MCL and NTPC. It also deepens their strategic partnership in supporting the country’s growing energy needs.
