Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has assured citizens that there is no shortage of petroleum products in the state and appealed to people not to indulge in panic buying at fuel stations.

After reviewing the overall petroleum supply situation in a high-level meeting, Chief Secretary Anu Garg told reporters that the availability of petrol, diesel, LPG, and urea remains stable across all districts of the state.

In a post on X, she emphasized that adequate stock is available and there is no reason for public concern.

The chief secretary further urged people to maintain normal purchasing behaviour and avoid unnecessary rush at petrol pumps. She cautioned that panic buying or hoarding could create artificial pressure on the supply chain despite sufficient availability of fuel and other essential commodities.

Garg also directed all District Collectors to keep a strict vigil on the situation and take immediate action in case of any irregularities. The government also warned that strict measures would be taken against individuals or businesses found hoarding fuel or attempting to exploit the situation for profiteering.

Meanwhile, public sector oil marketing companies have assured citizens that the supply of essential petroleum products, including petrol (MS), diesel (HSD), and LPG, remains stable and uninterrupted across Odisha. The assurance comes amid efforts to maintain seamless fuel availability throughout the state.

According to an official statement, the entire fuel supply chain covering terminals, depots, and retail outlets operated by Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is functioning normally without any operational disruption.
