Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has extended the ongoing admission timeline for postgraduate (PG) courses for the 2026-27 academic session in view of the prevailing flood situation and difficulties faced by students and institutions in affected areas.
The revised schedule applies to State Public Universities and colleges participating under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
Under the revised schedule, the list of waitlisted applicants for the Round-III waiting/spot selection round will be published on August 28 at 2 pm. The list will be prepared based on the actual vacancies available as of August 25.
Interested waitlisted applicants will have to physically report to their respective higher education institutions from August 29 at 11 am to August 31 at 4 pm, except on holidays. They will have to submit the Common Application Form along with relevant documents.
Applicants are required to appear in person. However, a representative with valid identity proof may be permitted to report on behalf of an applicant.
The merit list of reported waitlisted applicants will be published on the notice board or website of the respective higher education institutions on September 2 at 2 pm. Selected applicants will also be informed through phone calls, SMS, email, WhatsApp, or other available means.
Selected applicants will have to report for document validation and final admission from September 3 at 10 am to September 5 at 5 pm, except on holidays. Admission fees, where applicable, will be collected directly by the institutions through online modes such as net banking, bank challan, NEFT and UPI.
If vacancies remain, waitlisted applicants will be allowed to report for document validation and admission on September 7 and September 8. The scheduled timing is from 10 am on September 7 to 5 pm on September 8.
The department has said that the Phase-II admission process will be published subject to the availability of vacancies.
