Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has constituted a three-member committee to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the alleged malpractice in the Post Graduate (PG) examination conducted by the Odisha University of Health Sciences (OUHS), Bhubaneswar.

According to several media reports, photographs of a question paper were allegedly circulated on a social media platform on June 27 while the examination was underway.

According to an order issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department on Friday, the committee has been tasked with ascertaining the facts, identifying any lapses, if found, and submitting its report to the government within two weeks.

The inquiry panel comprises Bijay Kumar Dash, IAS, Additional Secretary to the Government in the Health & Family Welfare Department; Dr. Bijay Kumar Mishra, Special Secretary to the Government (Medical Services); and Dr. Anil Kumar Sahu, Joint Director of Medical Education and Training, Odisha.

The order, issued by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the government, states that the committee has been deputed specifically to examine the alleged malpractice related to the OUHS PG examination.

Meanwhile, Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati Medical College (MKCG Medical College), Berhampur, had already constituted an internal squad for the MD/MS University (OUHS) Examination 2026 scheduled for August 1.

An office order issued by the Dean and Principal of MKCG Medical College on July 27 stated that the internal squad comprises eight faculty members drawn from various departments, including Medicine, Biochemistry, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, and Surgery.

The order directed the squad members to report at the examination centre from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on August 1 to verify whether candidates were carrying electronic devices or any other objectionable materials before entering the examination hall.

The faculty members were also instructed to ensure that the sanctity of the theory examination is maintained before candidates are allowed into the examination hall.

The Health & Family Welfare Department has forwarded copies of the inquiry order to the Office of the Director of Medical Education and Training and the members of the committee for necessary action.
