Paradip: Paradip Port has achieved a major milestone by recording the fastest 100 MMT cargo throughput in a financial year since its establishment. The port reached the mark on Thursday, registering 100.15 MMT and a year-on-year growth of 4.78%. This also marks the ninth consecutive year that Paradip Port has crossed the 100 MMT benchmark. The target was achieved in just 241 days of FY 2025–26 – 12 days earlier than the previous year.
Despite market uncertainties, Paradip Port continues to set new performance records. Improved operational systems, quicker turnaround, and strong partnership with stakeholders have played a key role in maintaining momentum, the Port said in a post on X. Increased movement of coastal thermal coal, container cargo, gypsum, and POL has further reinforced Paradip Port Authority’s (PPA) standing as a prominent coastal shipping hub.
Chairman P. L. Haranadh expressed gratitude to Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal for his guidance and acknowledged the contribution of employees, industries, trade unions, stevedores, PPP operators, and various government agencies.
With continued focus on efficiency and growth, PPA is now progressing towards achieving its highest-ever cargo handling figures this fiscal.
