New Delhi: Odisha has witnessed fresh momentum in the micro food processing sector under the Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, with enterprises getting formalised and new investments mobilised across the State.

Across the country, a total of 59,202 micro food processing enterprises have been formalised since the launch of the scheme. The programme has mobilised cumulative investments of Rs 17,015.8 crore nationwide.

The scheme has also expanded credit support for small entrepreneurs. In addition, 24,445 loans have been sanctioned in aspirational districts.

In Odisha’s Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency, loans have been sanctioned to 49 micro food-processing enterprises. This includes loans for 21 women-led enterprises and six SHGs.

The scheme has also contributed to job creation. As of December 31, 2025, it has generated 5,18,121 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the country. Of these, 147 jobs have been created in Nabarangpur, Odisha, and 393 in the Pali Lok Sabha constituency, Rajasthan.
