Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary of Odisha’s Housing & Urban Development Department, Usha Padhi, on Friday reviewed the progress of key infrastructure and public welfare projects in Paradip Municipality and directed officials to expedite ongoing works while strengthening the delivery of citizen-centric civic services.
During her visit, Padhi inspected the municipality’s Waste Management Centre, where she reviewed the city’s solid waste management system, waste processing operations, and environmentally sustainable disposal practices. She advised officials to adopt modern technologies and best practices to further improve sanitation and transform Paradip into a cleaner and greener urban centre.
She also visited the site proposed for the Convention Centre and held discussions with departmental officials on the project’s design, infrastructure requirements, and implementation timeline. Stressing the importance of timely execution, she directed officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality.
As part of the visit, Padhi had lunch at an Aahar Centre along with members of the public. She reviewed the quality of food, hygiene, cleanliness, and service delivery at the centre. Expressing satisfaction with the affordable and nutritious meals being served, she instructed officials to consistently maintain high standards of food quality, sanitation, and customer service.
Later, during a review meeting with municipal and departmental officials, Padhi assessed the progress of various ongoing development projects in Paradip. She emphasised the need for efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric governance, directing all departments to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining accountability and quality in service delivery.
The review meeting was attended by the Executive Officer of Paradip Municipality, senior officials of the Housing & Urban Development Department, engineers, and other municipal officers.
