Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) 2026.

Students can now submit their Common Application Form through the SAMS portal until March 18, 11:45 PM.

Earlier, the last date for submission was March 15. The department decided to extend the deadline in the larger interest of students and to support their prospects, according to a government press release.

The CPET is mandatory for students seeking admission to postgraduate courses in the 2026-27 academic session. The entrance examinations for various subjects will be conducted from April 27 to May 10, 2026. Selection of candidates will be based on the marks secured in the CPET.

The Department aims to start postgraduate courses in all universities and colleges by July 10, 2026.

This timeline is expected to ensure the smooth completion of academic sessions, timely examinations, and prompt declaration of results, benefiting students across Odisha.
