Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 commenced on Thursday at Kalinga Stadium with participation from 150 selected youth representatives from all 30 districts of the State.
MY Bharat Odisha organised the two-day programme from March 26 to 27, 2026, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Odisha and the Department of Youth Services and Sports, government of Odisha. The event serves as a platform for youth to engage in democratic dialogue and policy discussions, according to an official statement.
The initiative, launched earlier as the National Youth Parliament Festival in 2019, has evolved into the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament in line with the vision of Narendra Modi for Viksit Bharat@2047. It aims to nurture young leaders and encourage active participation in nation-building.
A total of 3,764 youth participated at the district level, including 1,607 male and 2,157 female participants. The top five participants from each district advanced to the state level, resulting in 150 participants, including 60 male and 90 female representatives.
The discussions focus on the theme “Union Budget 2026 – Yuva Shakti: Budget towards Viksit Bharat 2047.” Each participant is given three minutes to present their views in Odia, Hindi, or English. The debates cover key national priorities such as economic growth, human capital development, and inclusive progress.
The programme aims to strengthen policy awareness, build leadership skills, and promote constructive dialogue among youth. It also seeks to create a pool of informed and solution-oriented young leaders.
The top three participants from Odisha will represent the state at the national-level Youth Parliament. The event reflects a growing effort to channel youth aspirations into meaningful policy engagement and align them with the vision of a developed India by 2047.
