New Delhi: India has stayed put at 142nd place in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Monday.
The ranking reflects a difficult phase for the national side, with India enduring a disappointing campaign in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers between March and November this year. The Blue Tigers failed to register a single victory across five matches, a run that had already seen them slide six places in the previous rankings issued on November 20.
India’s lowest-ever position in the FIFA rankings remains 173rd, recorded in March 2015.
At the top of the global standings, Spain retained the number one spot in the final men’s rankings of 2025. Morocco, despite winning the 2025 Arab Cup, continues to sit just outside the elite bracket at 11th, missing out on a top-10 return by a narrow margin of 0.54 points – a position they have not occupied since April 1998.
Among notable movers, Jordan climbed two places to reach 64th, making it one of the few teams to record a rise of more than one position in the latest update. Vietnam also moved up to 107th, while Singapore improved its standing to 148th.
